Ideal Studio

Lauren - My ideal studio would be in an isolated area with lots of surrounding nature. I'd like to have windows filling each room so student may feel as though they are outside and connected to the world around them. I would want to only have one wall with mirrors in each studio. While it can be beneficial to see the position of your body and your classmates, I also believe it is important to focus less on the physical appearance and more on the emotional expression. During classes, I would like to spend a lot of time working on improv and would encourage students to face away from the mirror. I believe this would facilitate more exploration of the body and movement without fear of "looking silly." I'd also like my student to have a rooftop meditation area where students could go to relax and relieve their stress before or after class. I would also like to provide a variety of healthy food and drinks within my studio to encourage healthy habits.

Jasmine - My ideal studio would be called jazzy’s, where each room decor, color and equipment is based on the kind of style of dance that is being taught. The styles of dance offer would be ballet ( classical and contemporary), Hip-Hop, Jazz, Modern and Tap. The studio would be a private studio that offers different payment plans depending on what the dancers interest in. All classes would be gender neutral and inclusive, making sure people feel welcomed and heard.
